SENIOR VP – LEARNING AND DEVELOPMENT
Jeremy designs and delivers courses to clients world-wide. He has developed professional skills in a wide range of consulting businesses, from internet start-ups to Big Five firms and internal consulting groups in major PLCs. His other professional work involves leadership development and coaching and helping companies to maximise the connections between individual development, innovation, growth and change.
Jeremy qualified as a teacher and at 26 became deputy headmaster of a London Secondary School with 1200 students. Seeking a career change five years later he joined MANTRA (Management Training) Ltd where he worked on a variety of training and consulting assignments. At this time he also worked as a trainer for IBM (UK), ultimately developing and delivering a two year programme linking IBM location staff and members of their local education community.
In 1988, Jeremy joined Coopers and Lybrand as a Senior Consultant and worked for six months as a trainer in the internal organisational development group. He also consulted the organisational/educational advisor on a wide range of implementation projects in both the government and private sectors. In 1990, he was promoted to Managing Associate and led consulting and training assignments in many countries of Europe for clients as diverse as Ford, Hewlett-Packard, Glaxo and ABB. Following this he worked for CSI, then CSI as part of a broad portfolio of organisational and educational consulting projects.
In 1997 he set up Piper School, an education business specialising in helping retail managers to innovate and lead change. The business grew without venture capital to a turnover of more than £1.6m in under two years. During this time he consulted to breweries, major retailers such as Sainsbury’s Supermarkets and companies in the Kingfisher group (B&Q, Superdrug). Jeremy has written two books: The Life Coach Workbook (John Murray Learning) and The Secrets of Great Salespeople (Hodder and Stoughton).
He is currently involved in a number of long-term projects to create leadership talent pools for companies ranging from luxury goods and security providers to professional firms. In addition to his work at CSI, Jeremy acted as interim Learning and Development Manager for a start-up professional services provider. He teaches and coaches for London Business School and the Institute of Management and Development (IMD) in Lausanne.Jeremy has an MA in Languages and Social Sciences from Cambridge and a PGCE from London University. He speaks German and French.
In his spare time, Jeremy enjoys spending time with his family and his interests include farming in France, the theatre, gardening, walking and skiing.
